CSR – CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY REPORT FOR THE FINANCIAL YEAR 2021-22
Aquagri’s commitment to sustainability has been rooted in its business practices for over a decade. Through seaweed cultivation, we are empowering the local communities, especially women to have a better livelihood opportunity for selves and their families. To underline this commitment, we have initiated a number of community welfare programs under its CSR initiatives to contribute to the sustainable development of society.
It makes every effort to actively participate in the social and economic development of the society in which it operates, by highlighting the value of education and laying great stress on its promotion, encouraging Women Empowerment and by aiding the nation to fight against the lethal COVID-19 pandemic.
Projects undertaken by the Company in the FY 2021-22
Aquagri has contributed twenty sets of desks and benches to two Government Primary School in Mangadu & Sambai, (Distt. Ramanathapuram) Tamil Nadu, with the hope that students’ paths to a bright future will not be obstructed by unnecessary economic barriers.

Aquagri has also provided Ten blackboards (5 each) for school children of two Government Primary schools in Mangadu & Sambai (Distt. Ramanathapuram), Tamil Nadu.
We have also provided Hearing Aid machines (10 Nos) to C.S.I Deaf and Dumb School, Manamadurai (Distt. Sivagangai), Tamil Nadu.

Scholarship to the Students: A scholarship is a form of financial aid awarded to students for further education. Aquagri had received a request from Seventh Day Adventist Hr. Sec. School, SIPCOT, Manamadurai,(Distt. Sivagangai)Tamil Nadu, for a scholarship for 4 students who are unable to pay their school fees. A scholarship was extended to these students by Aquagri so that they could continue their education seamlessly.

2. Support for Poor Families
Aquagri has always aimed to support them in whatever capacity possible. While supplementing Poor families with additional income is a constant effort, Aquagri has also supported poor families in Pudukottai &Ramanathapuram Distt., Tamil Nadu by financing activities in local villages to educate locals on important matters of healthcare, sanitation and malnourishment.
Cultivation of seaweed has provided a lot of fisherwomen (Ramanathapuram Distt.) with additional income for their houses, at relatively less dedicated labour hours. We also support these women by providing financial aid as startup money for their small businesses. Aquagri aims to empower these women holistically so that they can not only be financially independent but also live purposeful and prosperous lives.

b. Boats for fishing and related activity
Aquagri has also extended its support by providing boats (3 boats) to women for fishing activities that contribute significantly to their daily earnings. With the Fisheries Department, Aquagri has also provided additional boats to further ensure that lack of access to resources will not disrupt a constant income flow to the families of fisherwomen in Pudukottai and Ramanathapuram Distt. in Tamil Nadu.

Aquagri has contributed to the following CSR activities for women empowerment through Vivekanandha Trust, Tiruvannamalai (Distt.), Tamil Nadu.
- Improving the livelihood of marginalized women through micro-grant and micro-enterprise so that their income could safeguard their families.
- Empowering women from economically weaker sections that are working in the informal sector by organizing self-employed strategies for Social and Economic Empowerment of women in poverty.
During the pandemic, the scarcity of medical facilities was noticed in some areas which was hampering the proper treatment of the patients. Unavailability of equipment, mask, gloves etc., at hospitals, were also adding to the ordeal.
Aquagri has been making the following sizeable contributions to various hospitals, Sansthans and organizations, to help people who are suffering from COVID 19 and are unable to meet the expense of hospital bills and medicine;
- 10 litres Oxygen Concentrator (5 in numbers) to the Government for treatment of COVID in Sivagangai, Tamil Nadu.
- Contribution to Yug Sanskriti Nyas, Delhi, for Emergency Medical & Support service COVID-19.
1. Development of Villages
With an aim to provide potable drinking water, Aquagri focused on the provision of clean and safe water stored in statis 500 litres Sintex tanks (3 nos) for one year in Mangadu & Sambai – Distt. Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu.
2. SOS Children’s Villages
SOS Children’s Villages is a child care agency that supports vulnerable families in communities to become financially independent, thereby enabling them to create safe and nurturing environments for children. Aquagri has closely worked with this agency and donated to support their positive efforts regularly.
At Aquagri, we are constantly striving to make this world a better place for not only our farming communities but also for those that can often not explore their potential due to the lack of availability of various resources.
